Wet and Wild
Another week filled with activities and busyness. However – Age has been unwell most of the week and been at home; mostly in bed – so much of our things were done out and about. Morgan and Lilly continue to go to their classes, have fun and build their skills physically.
Our raw foods change has its ups and downs – but I won’t go too much into it as I have a blog dedicated to that each day. I have stopped being fanatical with the kids and let them have two min noodles or baked beans if they want it – but I am not swerving away from it. I don’t see any changes – but Age insists that I look different – I feel a lot more energetic that’s for sure.
With all these activities and my weekly commitments with writing, I am starting to feel a bit too structured.. or something. Dunno – might be just feeling tired and emotional.
I took the kids to Wet and Wild on Sat –what a hoot that was. I’d been there years ago – pre kids – so had not really looked at what was on offer there for them. We found a possy under shade cloth with table and chairs and basically camped there all day. It was right in front of the playground – so we ducked in between this, the wave pool, mammoth falls and calypso bay. If you can imagine a kids playground – and then add a heap of pipes, water cannons, surround it with ankle deep water and add a HUGE bucket at the top that filled and tipped its contents on everyone every 3 mins – then you have got the concept of what kept Morgan and Lilly busy most of the day.
We loved floating about Calyso bay on the tubes and the Waves kept us all buys ducking and diving. Both the kids are getting very good at body surfing now. I am so proud of Morgan with the Mammoth Falls. He had been keen to go – but as we climbed the stairs began to be very fearful. I encouraged him to climb to the top and just watch and make his decision. We watched for about 10 mins and I was more than prepared to walk down the flights of stairs if he thought he didn’t want to go. But he made the decision and was so delighted at the end of the ride begged me to go again , and again , and again. After 4 goes I was buggered!
Well – got several short stories to edit ( have let that project lapse a bit) and some research on my first client for web page building to do in the next few days. Have also been busy – not intentionally – with the total learning stuff. The company see the grim times ahead and is giving fantastic offers for hostesses – so I have had a few enquires from past hosts to come and do another party. I am not killing myself with the whole deal – its got to be in the day in the week – but I am happy enough to do them – its free books for me after all – and that’s not a bad thing….
We are trialing a babysitter this week on Thursday and really hope it works out. With no family who are able to look after the kids on a consistent basis – we need to look outside the traditional ways of having time to ourselves as a couple. In saying that – Max is going to look after the kids this month as is Jamie – but I don’t feel I can ask them very often.
I want to go to the theatre and ballet as I used to love this pre kids. We will see what is suitable for them – but really we need some time together as well.
Till next week
