I am so delighted to say I scored him a private room - which, though looks out onto a patio, is secluded and he can see trees.. Its Suite 36, in case you are up that way and can visit. He has his mobile which he can use - or use skype.. Or direct phone is 0754726468 .
The admin folk were pretty insistent on telling me that phone calls and visits were strictly in visiting hours only. Visiting hours are 3 - 8 pm on weekdays and from 1 pm on weekends. Apparently there is no more laying round in bed for Mr Evett! He has full schedule in day of physio and other therapies so won 't be in his room in the mornings much.
The kids and I settled him in last night, after the poor fella waited all day for the transfer! I was a bit cranky as I had said I could go down and get him, but they assured me all was in hand and he was leaving at 9.30 am.. And as I waited at Eden, he still hadn't left by 3.30... Phew!
Anyway, the kids were overjoyed to see him. They both miss him so much. Nightimes are the worse.
Age is looking great, and his speech has improved in leaps and bounds. I'm sure all the concentrated therapies he will be undertaking will just triply speed his recovery.
Today he is having reviews and tests done, so it wont be till mid week next week till we know how long he will be there for. Eden is a mid to long term facility, so it may be months.. Who knows. All depends on Age and his reaction and effort in rehab. If anyone is going to bust out of there quickly, it will be him.
