Sadly after about an hour, Lilly developed a blister, so we had to wave them forward and pull up for emergency repairs. Compeeded up, we set off again, only to have a Morgan blow out..repaired and full of chocolate, we started again.
We had been on the roads most of the time, so it was a welcome distraction to finally get into some forest tracks and follow the streams. Breathtakingly gorgeous.
As we crossed on stream, over arickety bridge, Lilly pulled her phone out to take a photo. She stood with her legs across the gaping holes in the bridge and all I could see was impending doom. Fortunately, it wasnt her phone that took a tumble, but her walking poles ($100 each... ) she saved one, but the other got washed away quickly. Morgan and I ran down the path trying to follow where it may have gone, but the rocks and blackberry made it difficult to access the stream. We walked back and forth trying to find it, hoping it had gotten stuck along thecway, but after 45 mins, gave up hope.
She was terribly upset and cried for ages. We both picked up a stone and put ( my anger) .. ( her upset) .. Into them and placed them on a pilgrim pile during the day. We reasoned that a pilgrim less fortunate may find it or someone who really needs one.. And sent our blessings downstream.
Morgan made her a make shift pole and we kept going.
Morgan had a bit of a slip on one of the stream causeways and soon after he knee began to hurt alot. He had a badly strained knee last year on the Camino and needed a phydio and strapping to continue.
We had a knee brace and put it on straight away. However, it was slow going and we needed to stip frequently as he was in alot of pain. The path was steep and the chilling rain was pretty miserable.
We were so glad to finally sight themonastery amongst the Clouds.. And to flop into bed.
The wifi is dismsl here, so I do have lots of photos, but cant load them.. Hopefully tomorrow.
