At long last.. We are here.. The gateway of the Camino... The French way at least.
Morgan was so full of beans, so excited today as we wandered round the town.
And Fab... Its supposed to snow tomorrow. The temperature has taken a real dive here. Brrr.. Looks like we will be walking the 'low' road up the Pyranness. ( all that really means is that we have a hell bit at the end.. Nearly vertical..)
This is the line up outside the Pilgrims Office in Saint Jeans. ... And its not even "season".
This is the main street where hundreds tomorrow morning will trek up and through the archway.
Along the way are fountains for pilgrims to drink from. Straight from springs, the water is always chilled and sweet.
The shell is a constant emblem of the way. It represents St James and reminds pilgrims of the baptism rites conducted ( or so I read in the church here)
Panarama shot of the walk ahead.. Doesnt look that bad?? Ha ha..
