The most memorable thing about
today was visiting Fuente del Peregrino - which I have done a post seperatly on.
We walked through lots of small villages whose main focus was the dairy in its middle- so lots of cows, lots of stinky sloppy poo on the streets and lots of dogs running round guarding houses.
I am guessing residents have either a fear or experience of pilgrims with less than honourable intentions walking past, given the ferocity of the dogs. We are a good team - sticks in hands and bunched together as we pass. Its the dogs behind which I am most scared of, they can come in quick and have a big bite at you if you arent aware of the tactics.
Another high point was the visit to San Sabastian - which again, I've put in a post by itself.
We got to our Albergue mid afternoon, stopping as Lillys foot was swelling up and very painful.
Too quickly and too late - we realised itvwas a governmwntvrun Albergue, again with no wifi, no blankets and no food or bars in the area. A saving grace was a ' convienient' arrangement where a resteraunter picked up hungry pilgrims and took to his place for a 'delicious meal'
After last nights disgusting fare, we had low expectations. Very happily they were exceeded and the meal pretty good.
