Lilly the dancer

I have succumbed to the suburban parents downfall.. .No – we don’t have a range rover… yet…( not likely) but I have enrolled Lilly in on dance classes.

She dances and sings around the house all day – like a little butterfly. I know I have little grace and wish I did. As the growing days go past, I see more and more of my movement patterns in Lilly and want to help her not be so unco or uncomfortable in her skin.

We went to a trial lesson today and I was so proud of her. She was one of the smallest girls there and tried her hardest tokeep up with the movement. The teacher is delightful and I really like the format.

I have researched a lot of classes and have resisted so far – but this studio has knocked down all my objections – No sewing costumes!, pay as you do the class and 4 free lessons before you sign up. The uniform is functional and inexpensive – the shoes the only item a bit pricey.

Dance is one of those things which will help in so many areas of her life – confidence – not that she needs any more of that – grace and feminine spirit, balance and assured step, rhythm and style. I am so looking forward to the classes for her and must be mindful not to be pushy or needy if she loses interest ( I doubt it)

Watch this space for cute photos of her in a tutu….
