CAN’T WAIT FOR Lilly to be old enough to attend one of theses – its so a girls thing.. much more than a boys deal at this age. Walking in we saw all the tweenie boppers, hair and make up to perfection ( yes at 5 years old) perfect shoes and outfits ( nice to see Maddonas early looks getting another run in fashion – the net fingerless gloves, fluro off the shoulder layered tops and the bubble or ra ra skirts.) – all huddled in little tight groups checking out what the other girls were wearing.
I’d given Morgan some fluro sticks to put round his wrists – so he spent much of the evening runningin and out of the toilets with friends turning out the lights and yelling. I took him to get his hair spray painted with fluro green and sparkles. I wished I taken photos of him looking so spunky. He bought himelsf a softdrink and a hotdog and was as happy as a pig in mud!
He stood with the other boys at the back and watched the girls gyrate and bop around the flashing lights. There was a lucky spot competition and I convinced him to get on the dance floor and at least take part. For 2 songs he stood in the ‘mosh’ pit the lights flashing around him.. Nutbush city lim
Lilly continues to twirl and stand on on eleg – balancing and doing her stretches. She has taken on a real grace with her movement and we are both delighted with her interpretations on music when it comes on. Gymnastics for her is just and extension of her dance lessons – plus she gets to wear her bright pink tutu to it – her dance class is very strict with its modern black skins uniform.
Morgan continues to enjoy the gymnastics and the upper body strength he needs to master it.
He came home a few weeks ago with a flyer from the local AFL club – its less thn 2 mins up the road and has classes and games for a wide range of people. There is an auskick program which started last Sat - so he was pretty consistant with his pleading – so I caved and took him on Sat.. am so glad I did. Delighted with the teachers and the system they have in place. Very cleverly programmed – obviously by a sports psychologist.
His little face beaming with enthusiasm was enough for me to know we had done the right thing. I am such a sucker..
Friday night we went to see Adam Hills in his first stand up comedy show this season. Such a master of emotions and wonderful story teller. Had us in stitches a number of times. Am so glad Uncle Jamie was able to come and look after the kids – they adore him!
