How do you stuff a holiday into a weekend?

So - what would you say -
  • go snowboarding after a cooked breakfast,
  • swimming,
  • hang out in a spa pool big enough for a dozen to sit comfortably,
  • race round and explore a pirate ship, a space ship, Visit an egyptian Pyramid,
  • watch a movie, have a cocktail by the pool,
  • play a few games on playstation,
  • sleep,
  • get up and play playstation,
  • swim,
  • race on go carts,
  • draw and paint,
  • swim again,
  • go to the beach and watch the sun go down,
  • chuck a frisbee,
  • eat icecream and get home to fall asleep immediately?

well - that's what the kids did on Sunday and Monday. Saturday was spent looking at cars, test driving and then going to the Lions Match ( see previous entry for photos of that.)

Morgan was a little nervous with the snow - but Lilly jumped in and was away. Both loved the experience and we are now looking seriously at a snow holiday next year. It was a gimic by Anaconda - they had several tonnes of snow dumped inthe car park and had tobogan rides for the kids.

We took off to the Gold Coast and stayed at Paradise Resort - I have got to say it was a fantastic experience and one we will def be doing again.

We had a poolside Bunkhouse - FAB. Great use of space - with a bunkbed separating an area from the parents. It was set up with a playstation and DVD, drawers underneath and the to the side of the bed and a huge blackboard on one wall for artistic explorations.

As part of the deal we also had 2 sessions of kids club a day - where they kids went off , ate a good meal and explored the most fantastic play areas I have ever seen. Each room was themed areas - Egypt, pirate ships, Space ships, Roman temples, go carting area. The staff were not only abundant - but friendly and related to the kids really well. Morgan and Lilly didn't want to come to us -they wanted to stay and play - don't blame them one bit.

We did spend an afternoon in the pools ( 4 of them) and on the slides. There are giant geckos everywhere - slides down their tail, hanging off them etc. I went in the pool as well - 26 degrees - which to be honest is the bottom point for me - but come on - its the middle of winter next week - what can you expect?

I'll be writing up a proper report and review of this place to put on my writing site - but all I can say is this was FANTASTIC.. and we'll be going back.

Adrian and I went out for dinner, had walks along the moonlight beach, went out and had a leisurely breakfast together, went down the Gold coast promenade and went shopping, had a gorgeous lunch and people watched - Age most disappointed he only saw one Maserati.. - and we knew the kids were having a blast and well looked after. It really was a holiday for us - and for them.

So we really stuffed in a heap on the weekend..... how about you?
