Morgan was chosen to be a Mascot on Saturday Nights Lions Match at the Gabba.
He is doing so well with his own AFL training... well - as much as a young - un can. Last week he even kicked a goal - and did a tricky bounce thing as he ran ( yes I am so technical with this....) very exciting stuff....
Although we had planned to be away on a short break at the Gold Coast that weekend, the opportunity was too great to miss, so we changed our plans so that Morgan could be involved. I know it was only 5 mins of fame - but it was a ripper of a game - I am even starting to understand alot of it -though that hasn't stopped me from screaming at the players or roaring with delight as a goal is made.!
Morgan got to wear the official kit and stood with 21 other little tackers before going out into the field. There were 33 thousand people recorded to be in attendance - which for folk in Vic might not be a big deal - but its up there in records.
Morgan was most put out that they were explicitly told not to touch the big banner - they all wanted to run and jump on it. When asked how big the Lions Players were - He quite simply said - well they were bigger than me.... It was a bit of a crap situation with the photos - we weren't supposed to take any - but far out.... and then all trying to huddle and get shots of them on field... oh well - you will just have to beleive me - he was there.....
and I have now been to enough Lions matches to know the team song.. ohhh dear... However I don't have a scarf or beanie.... yet....
