While we are in Gympie house sitting, and perhaps for much of the rest of the year, the kids will homeschool... At least, they will have core subjects and projects to do five days a week.
I've done the lazy thing, as I have very little brain capacity or thought processes at the moment, of buying pre set subject based activities.
We conferenced on what the kids thought they needed to focus on with thier learning and any tpoics they wanted to explore.
They have a checklist to tick off, so if they get stuck into, for example, maths, they can get a weeks worth of activities done over the space of two days... Or science in one sitting..
They have reading- with a review of what they learnt supposed to go on the blog, science with mini tests, comprehension texts, handwriting, grammar, maths, problem solving ( another maths based activity book) as well as good old 'horrible histories', ipad activites and a mini farm to care for - dog, cat, chooks, birds and vege patch.
Oh and writing up projects from our travels...
So... I think we have most things covered.. Additionally, they have to fo 30 mins of WII fit everyday..
They love the idea of being responsible and in charge if thier learning program..
I dont think they are 'missing out'... Do you??
